Cool Meditation Success Stories
Meditation and success are not normally spoken about together. I believe that this stems from the fact that it’s somewhat challenging to measure the impact of meditation in a tangible way. The best way I know how to make it simple to understand is to share some of my success with meditating.
Meditation has successfully helped me to break free from a life of anxiety and over-stress. It has also given me a deep sense of inner calm and that all is right with the world, regardless of what we see in the media.
It’s also been responsible for switching on the creative part of my brain which has led to writing best-selling books, talking on stage around the world, setting up my own personal development company, and getting to know myself on many levels of mind, body, and spirit.
I now define success at meditating as living the best version of myself possible while being able to find a place to come home to inside myself each day, that is free from the distractions and disruptions of modern day living.
5 More Ways To Measure Meditation And Success
Let’s have a look at some other ways that you can think about how meditation and success go together.
1. Meditation sets your day up the right way.
I’ve discovered that how we start the day matters. If we start the day in turmoil or get caught up in rushing around like a madman from the moment we wake-up, then this is the energy that we move into the day with.
Likewise, if we make meditation a morning ritual as soon as we get out of bed, then we are starting the day out in a calm and relaxed energy. This not only helps us to take this energy into the day but it also makes us more resilient to the stresses of the day.
2. Meditation helps with letting go.
One of the ways that people put undue stress on themselves and tend to suffer when they don’t really need to is to hang onto things that don’t really matter anymore or they belong to the past or future.
The mind tends to hang onto things and obsesses over them to the point where we get stuck in being negative or judgmental. Whenever we hang onto anything that is not healthy for us then we are really just hurting ourselves. Meditation teaches us to become non-judgmental of our thoughts and feelings which help’s us to let go of those things that don’t serve us.
3. Meditation brings you into the present moment.
Your mind literally doesn’t know how to be in the present moment unless it has been trained to do so. We can sometimes find ourselves falling into the moment when we are surprised by something that causes us to get out of our head and into our body.
Having a clear, quiet mind only happens when we are fully present and not distracted. Mindfulness meditation is one of the simplest ways to quiet the mind and enjoy pure moments of calm and clarity. This will work for you whether you meditate for 30 seconds or 30 minutes.
4. Meditation can help you to sleep better.
I don’t know about you but I love to sleep. The thing is it hasn’t always been easy for me to fall asleep or stay asleep. That is until I started meditating. The mind gets so wound up during the day that it is triggers a stress responses in the brain that cause your body to become tense, or blocked with energy.
Too much tension in the body combined with an over-active mind is a recipe for insomnia. Meditation before bed helps to unwind the mind which triggers a relaxation response in the brain. This then helps the body to start to relax so that you can fall asleep and stay asleep.
5. Meditation can help you to love yourself more.
It’s taken me many years to discover that until I love and accept myself unconditionally, then all sorts of self-worth issues are going to rear their ugly heads. Lack of self-worth causes people to doubt themselves and limits what they can be, do, and have in the world.
When you have healthy self-worth then it is easy to love yourself because now there are no negative or limiting beliefs keeping you thinking that you are small or unworthy of love. Consistent meditation enables you to sit quietly with yourself and be at peace with your inner and outer world. In those moments a pureness of joy arises naturally in every cell of your body to remind you that you are perfect just the way you are.
I hope that this glimpse at some other ways that you can think about meditation and success in the same breath has inspired you in some way to create your own success stories. Keep in mind that the best results always happen when you meditate on a consistent basis. Even 5-minutes a day is enough to start seeing real results fast.
