I love to meditate and it has become such an ingrained part of my life that I don’t think twice about it anymore. But it wasn’t always this way.
When I first started meditating I really didn’t have any tips for meditation to help make it work for me so I felt like I was stumbling along in the dark for quite some time.
How To Start Meditating
Getting started with meditation is like starting any new habit it’s going to take anywhere from 7 days to 2 months before you feel like it comes natural to you. The reason why it’ll be quicker for some than others depends on how long it takes you to get into the routine of doing something new. For some it takes days, while for others it can take a month or two..
But before you even consider starting to meditate first of all check in with yourself and see where you mind is at with it. If you’re thinking to do it because some part of you believes that you ‘have’ to for whatever reason, then it’s probably better that you don’t do it as it’ll just become another chore to fit in an already hectic day.
If meditation becomes a chore, or part of your daily tasks, then you’ve missed the point. Meditation has to be something you want to do because you are passionate or motivated to get started. If it gets reduced to a chore, then you’ll most likely give-up anyway as most people don’t like doing chores, especially if they are voluntary.
